University of Khartoum Academic Affairs Secretary Resigns Over Concerns About Academic Records
Follow-ups – Sudan Now –
The Secretary of Academic Affairs at the University of Khartoum, Ali Rabah, has submitted his resignation, citing pressure from an external entity not affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education or the university’s administration.
In a statement published on his personal social media account, Rabah said the pressure aimed to prevent him from addressing issues related to unauthorized access to the university’s academic records, as well as attempts to halt digital transformation projects, including electronic certificates and online education systems.
He explained that during the past period, the university worked under exceptionally complex conditions to maintain academic continuity, focusing on key files such as electronic certification, online learning, exam organization, and safeguarding academic records, in order to protect the rights of students and graduates.
Rabah noted that his decision to resign came after facing what he described as a serious ethical dilemma, stressing that remaining in his position while compromising professional integrity was not an option. He emphasized that his resignation was a principled stance, not an attempt to evade responsibility.
He further stated that protecting academic records goes beyond administrative procedures, as it directly affects the university’s reputation and credibility at both national and international levels, and has long-term implications for future generations.
Rabah concluded by expressing confidence in the University of Khartoum’s ability to renew itself and preserve its academic mission, affirming that the institution remains stronger and more enduring than any
